Sound of Silence.
I am in the process of accumulating my favourite sounds.
I plan on recording them and falling asleep to them on some kind of loop as my insomnia is slowly destroyingmywilltoliveandnomatterwhattimeifallasleepialwaysseemtowakeupatseveninthemorninggodhelpme.
Best you don't even bother trying to read that part.
Obviously these collected sounds relate to other senses, and indeed correspond to feelings that I have accumulated throughout my 31 (nigh on 32) years on this planet.
They may also infer to personal issues that plague me, and perhaps give you an insight to my life.
I tossed up whether or not to explain my reasoning behind them and decided against it. Your imagination is probably far more exciting than my prose.
Here they are:
1) Ice in an almost empty tumbler.
2) The woody thwack of a free credit on a pinball machine.
3) Shuffling playing cards.
4) A c seven chord on a guitar makes me laugh.
5) b minor makes me sad.
6) Pencil on paper.
7) A group of at least ten children singing.
8) Bike tyres on loose gravel.
9) My mother's laugh.
10) Utter silence.
Help me out here.
Comments
okay who am i kidding. neither of us has ever opened a new can of tennis balls.
Sounds are a good idea, comforting smells help also. I can send you some lavender ‘sleep easy’ potions made for me by a deaf gypsy if you think that this would help.
The best thing is to try and wind down your mind, which I know is much easier said than done or worst case scenario go buy a copy of Sade’s Promise.
And your silence regd my boxing tips only confirms that you dont take any of my ideas seriously.
I read every night before i go to bed.
KURT VONNEGUT IS DEAD
thing that put me to sleep
the sighs of a poodle dreaming of treats
Does the bedroom have any incidental light? (ie from the street etc..)
Cos I remember reading somewhere that any source of light at all does affect sleep, even illumination from radio clocks etc... but magnitude is dependent on receipient.
The irony-free laughter of children.
The susurrus of the sea on the shore in the early am as heard while coming down from the night before.
That half sigh, half snore a lover makes as they tuck themselves deeper into your embrace in the moment before they fall asleep.
