Questions to your Answers.

This has turned into a bit of joke really. I barely touch my once beloved blog. And I am probably one of the few who doesn't have a myspace or some other social internet site. But, I genuinely have a few questions. If anyone could answer them, I would be most appreciative. They are in regards to Melbourne. 1) Where do you get a good coffee on Lygon Street in Carlton? It's a damn labyrinth. And while we're in Carlton, where does one get good Italian food? 2) Can you swim in the Yarra? If so, where? If not, can you keep your head above water, and paddle, or will some current drag you under water? 3) Pubs rarely sell schooners of beer, but when they do they seem way more expensive than other states in Australia, why? 4) The street in Fitzroy / Collingwood, that intersects with Brunswick, Nicholson etc ... is it Johnson, or Johnston? There are signs that say both ... or either ... I AM CONFUSED. 5) There is a major escalator problem in Melbourne. I thought the rule was; standers stay to the left; walkers to the right. There is no rhyme or reason here. People do what they want, it makes me mad. I have brought this up before, but no one seems to have done anything about it. Thanks.

1. Lygon St Food Store used to do quite good coffee. It's near the corner of Faraday st and the commonwealth bank. They also do quite good lunch sandwich-type things and sell cheese. cheese is always good. Or there's Brunetti which is popular with the kids but I'm not such a fan of their style of coffee.

About the good italian food: Tiamo is about it. If you're there at lunchtime on a wednesday, they have awesome gnocchi. It's the homestyle italian not fancy italian. If you want fancy italian, try Enotecca (or hgowever you spell it) up in north carlton on the corner of lygon and richardson. It's full of wankers but the food is supposed to be great.

2. Up near Warrandyte you can and you may even see platypii too. Anywhere else and it's probable that you will contract some dreadful bacterial disease.

3. Our history is in the humble pot. Schooners get too warm too fast. Try a pint?

4. Johnston? Don't you think it's more confusing that it keeps changing its name? Elgin st-> johnson/johnston st -> cotham rd -> whitehorse rd -> maroondah highway?

5. THAT IS THE RULE. There are just a lot of rude c*nts about.

Number 6 is my favourite.

By the way, I've been meaning to tell you ... I've seen your Foxtel ads and I think they're great.

Scratch that; I think you're great.
